Duck Attack!

Even before I start eating lunch at Foundérs' Park, 5 ducks came out of no where and surrounded my table! wat the.... they not scared one and waited patiently till they saw my meal slowly disappear.... stray cats, dogs, sparrows r understandable but ducks?? Thinking it's v abnormal, I din feed them at all.

Founders' Park Exhibits...

Of course, in historical buildings, there r old antiques....

The NZ inter-city coach service actually started in 1879!!

With such dentist chair, one would prefer not to extract tooth....

Dun understand y old chainsaws r worth to exhibit......

The blade is obviously missing.......

Nelson Founders' Park

Nelson has this theme park which showcases their historical buildings. The entrance fee is NZD 5! At first dun wanna go in but since there already, ok lah. The ticketing lady asked if I have student identity.... hahaha.... in the end, I only paid NZD 2.50 instead cuz I have my NUS masters matric card wif me.... heheh.......

At first I thought 'wow, they showcase old cars too!; Then I went into the small chapel and saw pple & a priest. 'Wow, they perform typical sessions too?!' Then I saw a coffin in the middle and quickly walked out. That car was actually a hearst and it was a real funeral inside!! y dun the park restrict function areas....

Cycling around Nelson

Started my cycling tour to some beach.... ya lah, I really bad at remembering names.... but those r long Maori names!

Then found the above beautiful yacht area with mountain views....

Only a shelf in hostel dorm

Personal space in hostel dorms is so limited, anything can b squeezed into a small shelf! Think others can do better than me....

My previous made-in-china water bottle was replaced with a better one in the photo cuz it leaked and wet my backpack! So ironic it is as my backpack was 100% dry even after that kayak capsize.
Sadly, I'm running out of my favourite toothpaste from SG soon!! Really underestimated the quantity I need....

SG rain in NZ??

For some days, there r considerably heavy rains in NZ and when it rains, it's doubly cold! Hey, I din bring the rain from SG!

Nelson Vege Food

This is the only 100% vege cafe at Nelson. For lunch, I ordered some mushroom pastry with tea and the total bill is NZD 11!! That's abt SGD 12! Ya, I din have my meals there again since there r larger-serving vege meals elsewhere.

Holy Christmas

Din went to chill out or have BBQ/parties like most pple here, so went to Nelson Cathedral for Christmas Carols which was open to everyone. Since I dun sing the hymns, I juz stood outside & took photos.

Food at last.....

K, finally something abt food for those food enthusiastics (this is when I'll always think of colleagues MF, JL, CLP, etc....)!! Think the place is a cafe-cum-bar and 3 of us only order 2 meals (cuz the servings r huge & expensive!)

This is actually breakfast for one......

This is my vege brunch, quite nice!

Nelson Saturday Market

Every Sat got Nelson Saturday Market and it's worth a visit..... got nice arty things on sale.....

Lots of talented young performers......

Carz...

Some interesting motor vehicles I saw.......

Austin Mini I think......

This poor guy got laughed at as he goes! Hey, this mini bike works!

Birdsss...

Birds here r generally fatter than those in SG.........

Nice yellow one.....

This handsome one kept circling me and not shy somemore!! It stood v closely and kept looking to me till I surrender crumbs of my chocolate muffin...... reminds me of a previous pet canary.....

Sutey Gallery

Next to Queens Garden is Sutey Gallery....... small gallery, free entry on Sat.

Some exhibits from Wearable Art Museum

Very often c pottery at galleries & markets.

This one cost NZD 9900!!

Queens Garden

This garden is quiet and charming, must visit when in Nelson.

Surprised to c water lilies there.....

Abundant roses......

And lots of ducks!!
