That was my last photo of the day. At end of tour, we suppose to 'surf' our kayak back to shore..... meaning, let the huge waves bring the kayak back without us paddling..... It went well for the first two huge waves and it was damn shiok! Somehow my kayak was slanted after 2nd wave and the last few moments I remember before going down was the whole kayak was brought up very high and the 3rd huge wave slammed us hard from the right..... at that instant then I realise 'OH NO! wat did the guide told us to do when kayak capsize??!'When I first surface up, I only saw 2 other things floating - my kayak partner and my water bottle, dettached from the kayak.... the impact of the wave was so strong, it threw me out of the kayak without me pulling some kayak device to eject myself.
As I was facing the waves, subsequent waves keep coming over me and makes it difficult to catch my breathe. Lucky kayak partner can reach me, turn me over and help me feel the seabed which is not too deep down. Can't stand properly on seabed too cuz the huge waves kept banging my back.......
Well, lucky no major lost here.... even my impt belongings in the kayak were oso salvaged (the kayak reached the shore earlier than me). Din visit the beach for next few days but will be heading the Golden Bay tmw..... ;P
